Sustainability
CLS uses the government’s Climate Action Toolbox to identify and reduce emissions
Moving People
We work from home
Where face to face meetings are needed we choose an appropriate location and walk, cycle, use our electric vehicle or take the bus
Where travel to other cities is required, the value gained from the visits is maximised through careful planning
Wherever practicable, we use our electric vehicle for site visits
Office Operations
We have no printer and printed documents are only supplied when specifically requested
Where possible, we use video conferencing for meetings with clients based outside Christchurch
We are committed to attending sustainability workshops and webinars for continuous improvement of our sustainability initiatives
Solutions
We gather sufficient data to enable a robust assessment, i.e. one elevated result will not lead to a ‘dig and dump’ solution
Where appropriate, we use Tier 2 assessments to provide more specific assessments of contamination risks on sites
We can conduct site specific natural ground assessments to provide assessments of background metal concentrations, e.g. are the results elevated by contamination or naturally high metal content
Our assessments of remedial options draw from our body of knowledge of remedial systems and a willingness to connect with other specialists
Where off site disposal of material is required, CLS will provide an assessment of disposal options to enable selection of the best option/s
